It’s that time of year and Property Tax Assessments are rolling out here in Texas! Boooooo Taxes!

I have had a few clients recently reach out asking for me to run comparables to see if their home is being valued correctly and figured this would be a good thing to share!

If you live in the DFW Metroplex and think your home is overvalued, you can file a protest with your county appraisal district.  The information should be on your letter or can be found on their website!

If you don’t want to do it yourself, there are companies that will do this for you and many won’t charge you a fee unless they get you a reduction.  If they do, the fee will be based off the amount of the reduction.

The deadline to file your protest is May 15 or 30 days after the Notice of Appraised Value was sent, whichever was later.
