What does this mean? Well, it means there are so many options when it comes to finding a home!
If you are thinking about buying a home, I wanted to share a few reasons why new construction may be a great option right now, especially if you are a first-time home buyer.
Builders Offering Incentives In the Dallas Metroplex
We are still seeing builders offering amazing incentives often when using their preferred lenders. Things like lower interest rates on quick move-ins, $5-$25k to buy down the rate or use toward closing costs. This is especially attractive for first time home buyers or those with not a lot of cash for closing costs!
Save on Utilities with a New Construction Home
Home ownership is more than just the mortgage payment, so you need to make sure to factor in all the costs. Most new construction homes will be considerably more energy-efficient than an older home, which means savings on utility costs.
New Construction will have typically have Less Repairs
Buying an older pre-owned home may have more hidden costs and things you don’t see that can happen after your purchase. However, with most new builds they will offer warranties to help cover any issues for the first couple of years. A common builder warranty is a 1-2-10, which means 1 yr on workmanship, 2 yrs on things on plumbing, electrical, and systems, 10 yrs on structural/foundation.
Another thing to think about is that homes that are in desirable locations, priced well, and updated are still getting multiple offers. With a new build, you are not going to have to worry about getting into a bidding war.
